This is the first episode of my monthly reviews, a new series of blog posts I’m going to publish. At the end of each month, I’m going to wrap up the activities of the month, events or travel or any other fun stuff I/we do. Mainly it’s a bit of a diary for me to look back on and others to enjoy if they so wish. Here’s my monthly review of May 2018.

South West Road Trip

This May started with a record-breakingly hot May Bank Holiday weekend. We hired a Camper Car from Spaceships and headed down to Dorset and Devon for the long weekend. It was awesome to actually drive a car again. I hadn’t driven a car since June last year, so it was freeing to get behind the wheel again. We road-tripped through narrow, winding, hedged, English country roads, we swam in the freezing English channel and woke up to the sun rising over rolling hills and green fields. It was awesome to get some fresh country air in my lungs.

Ireland

In the middle of May we spent 6 days away in Ireland, one of the top countries on my bucket list. It did not disappoint. We met our friends Jenny and Daniel in Dublin and proceeded to road trip through the countryside with them. Lots of sightseeing, singing and beer drinking was done. I’m in the process of writing a long blog post about our trip to Ireland, so keep your eyes peeled.

Finally, May ended with yet another Bank holiday weekend. For once, we didn’t have plans for this one. We relaxed at home, had a picnic in the park, went to the gym and danced in a thunderstorm.

May was a busy month, but also a month where I didn’t work a full week at all. So, it’s back to work for me.

I’m looking forward to some more hot weather as we go into summer and don’t panic, I’ll be publishing more in-depth blog posts about both our trips in the coming weeks.
